Ivan Seredni

2 Year Trustee, Post 5978

Vietnam Veteran | Accountant | Volunteer | Lifelong Patriot

Born with a sense of duty and a sharp mind for numbers, Ivan Seredni proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971, completing two tours of duty in Vietnam. Stationed at Cam Ranh Bay and later at Bien Hoa, he stood shoulder to shoulder with his fellow Airmen during some of the most challenging years of the war, earning the respect and admiration of all who served alongside him.

Following his honorable service, Ivan returned home. He pursued a successful career in accounting, combining discipline and attention to detail with a strong work ethic that carried him through to retirement.

But Ivan’s commitment to service didn’t end when he hung up his uniform or retired his calculator. A proud lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), American Veterans (AMVets), and the American Legion, he continues to advocate for veteran causes and camaraderie. Deeply moved by the struggles many face in silence, he also gave his time as a volunteer at San Francisco Suicide Prevention, offering a compassionate ear and steady voice to those in crisis.

Today, Ivan enjoys a well-earned retirement and is seeking his next great adventure—ideally with a good dance partner by his side. Whether it's a waltz, a swing, or something with a little more rhythm, he’s ready to take the floor and keep moving forward, one step at a time.
